US Energy Outlook
All US fuel prices increased in 2006 due to many factors; however, prices did not make as significant a jump as in 2005 after Hurricanes Katrina and Rita struck the Gulf Coast, initially taking out more than 25 percent of US crude oil production and 10 to 15 percent of US refinery capacity. According to government forecasts, prices for most fuels are expected to decline during 2007.
